Seabrook Crisps owner Calbee UK has appointed Jon Wood as group managing director.
Wood – who was previously the business’ group commercial director – replaces Daniel Woodwards, who has left after 12 years to pursue other opportunities.
Wood has two decades’ fmcg industry experience. He spent six years working for Mars, culminating as account controller for the multiples, before joining Seabrook Crisps in 2014 as trading director for impulse.
Wood was promoted to sales director, then commercial director for Seabrook, before it was acquired by Calbee UK in 2018.
“Our exciting growth plans make this the perfect time to be taking on the MD role,” said Wood.
“Since joining the Calbee group in 2018, we’ve doubled the size of the Seabrook brand and subsequently the UK business.
“The next phase of our growth is no less ambitious, as we continue to build on the branded gains already made on both Seabrook and Harvest Snaps,” he added.
“As we move forward, we will further leverage the huge breadth of innovative product technologies and market-leading brands available to us through the wider Calbee group, with the UK playing a leading role in Calbee’s global growth aspirations.”
It comes as Calbee UK last month appointed Charlotte Midgley as head of HR.
