A new £1.6m TV ad campaign for Mars confectionery brand Twix aims to position it as the perfect tea break snack. Breaking this week, the activity forms part of a £3m campaign and features the strapline 'Twix. Two great tasting bars. Happy together' backed by the music track 'Happy Together'. The brand will also sponsor the hit daytime radio show Afternoon Tea with Suggs on Virgin Radio for three months from 24 September. The three-hour show airs from 1pm, Monday to Friday, and reaches 4.5 million of Twix's target consumers each month. Twix is also linking up with Typhoo on sampling activity set to run throughout October, and on promotions in supermarkets. Shoppers will be targeted with packs containing Twix and Typhoo tea bags with the aim of encouraging them to make a brew and enjoy a Twix when they get home.
