Procter & Gamble's advert for its Charmin toilet roll brand used scatological undertones in its recent television campaign, which kicked off last July. The advert showed a series of innocent situations, which included a man laying a cable and someone spending a penny, to present a comic play on euphemisms for when nature calls.

Unilever went for a soft and friendly approach for its most recent Persil TV ad, which lined up with the launch of the movie Happy Feet. The star of the advert is a girl who declares her desire to be a penguin when she grows up, much to the merriment of her classmates. Later on the ad shows the girl in her own home giving an amusing impression of a penguin waddling around the garden.

This month marked the launch of Procter & Gamble's new advertising for its Daz washing powder brand, featuring 90s pop band Right Said Fred (renamed White Said Fred). The group, who had hits with 'I'm too sexy' and 'Deeply Dippy' has made a comeback by agreeing to team up with the brand using the line 'I'm too sexy for my whites' in a bid to promote 'sexier' whites.
