Pink Penguins follow polar bears as the latest animals to promote Mateus Rosé. They feature in new TV ads for the wine, distributed by First Drinks Brands, with the strapline: 'Anyone can do cold and pink. No-one does rosé like Mateus.' The £1.5m campaign will run for six weeks from the middle of this month on C4, and ITV London, Granada, Scottish and Central regions. "By advertising during programmes such as The F-Word we will reach our target audience of young, sociable female drinkers," said Antony Habert, senior brand manager. "Many of them are already enjoying rosé, as evidenced by growth at 29%." First Drinks Brands is also adding Mateus Shiraz, sourced from France, to its portfolio of Original and Tempranillo. "Launching a third varietal means Mateus now offers a full complement of styles through dry, medium-dry and medium within the sub-£5 sector," added Habert. Festival-goers will also be able to sample the products through the C4 Taste Festivals this summer.
