Canned cocktail brand Moth has added three new 10% abv drinks to its line-up.
They are: French 75, Aperitivo Spritz and Piña Colada (rsp: £3.99/200ml).
French 75 and Aperitivo Spritz are made with Tarquin’s gin. Piña Colada, meanwhile, contains Duppy Share rum.
All three drinks have rolled into Waitrose, while Piña Colada has also hit shelves in Tesco. The new launches bring the brand’s range of canned cocktails to a total of eight drinks.
Moth co-founder Rob Wallis said he was “excited to reveal our new cocktails, which Waitrose and Tesco shoppers can purchase during the festive season to enjoy at home with friends”.
“We’re so proud to be working with our award-winning spirit partners to bring consumers three new classic cocktails to enjoy anytime, anywhere.”
Waitrose spirits buyer John Vine said he was “incredibly excited to be releasing three new Moth cocktails this winter in time for Christmas”.
“The growth of high-quality ready-to-drink cocktails has been huge,” he said, adding “Moth’s newly released cocktails will add further to the success of the brand and continue to delight Waitrose consumers.”
It comes as volume sales of RTDs were flat (down 0.2%) in the 52 weeks until 10 September 2022, according to NielsenIQ data.
However, this hasn’t stopped drinks suppliers innovating in the space. Absolut, for instance, added a canned Passionfruit Martini cocktail to its RTD lineup in March 2022, and Hard Rock International debuted a trio of canned cocktails – in Piña Colada, Mojito and Passionfruit Martini flavours – in August.
