An eco-friendly tinned water brand that aims to go head-to-head with plastic-bottled rivals has gone on sale in London.
CanO Water, which derives from the springs in the foothills of the Austrian Alps, is being sold in Whole Foods Market and Selfridges (rsp: 99p/330ml).
Available in still and sparkling variants, the water is packaged in resealable, recyclable tins that are said to be as watertight as a disposable plastic bottle.
“Not only is aluminium better for you to drink out of, it is much kinder to the environment,” said sales director Ariel Booker.
“Recycling aluminium cans is a lot easier than recycling plastic and has a higher lifetime value. Recycling aluminium takes only 5% of the energy required to make new cans, and it can be done indefinitely.”
