Capespan is closing its Vinfruco wine operation in the UK and linking with Vinoceros to sell its wines.
From April, the South African company's wines, including Arniston Bay and Oak Village, will be distributed by Vinoceros. Its commercial manager David Neal and national account manager Ray King will join Vinoceros as divisional directors.
Neal said: "Sales of Arniston Bay have taken off in the past two years, particularly through the grocery multiples, but we need a broader structure to gain distribution in the independents and on-trade. Vinoceros can provide this."
Arniston Bay is the number two South African brand in the UK and its budget is set to be increased. Vinoceros md Nick Richards said: "This will strengthen our position as a one-stop shop for quality New World wines."
