British charcuterie company Capreolus Fine Foods has merged with Deli Farm Charcuterie.
Production of the Deli Farm range will move to Capreolus’s site in West Dorset, where the team will continue to make products using Cornish meat.
Deli Farm’s partners, Martin and Jean Edwards, decided to stop production and plan for retirement, leading to the merger.
“We know they will continue to make our products with the same care and attention to detail that we have strived to achieve,” said Martin Edwards. “It is also very important to us that they will keep the provenance of our products by continuing to use Cornish meat.”
The merger will strengthen Capreolus’s presence in the British charcuterie sector and enhance its product range. It won a listing for its range in Waitrose back in May.
“The British charcuterie sector is coming of age, and joining with Deli Farm, another strong and well-respected brand, helps to cement our position at the top of this increasingly important growth area of British food manufacturing,” said David Richards, director of Capreolus Fine Foods.
“I look forward to working with Jean, whose feel for how flavours combine to make delicious charcuterie has been recognised regionally and nationally for many years,” he added.
