The British Standards Institute has launched a consultation on a new method of assessing the carbon footprint of fish and seafood products.
Intended to “eradicate inconsistencies” in calculating greenhouse gas emissions, it is based on a workshop held by the BSI last month and reflects the work of 50 industry stakeholders from around the world.
The consultation, which received funding from Seafish, among others, is open until 26 June.
