Cathedral City has expanded its ‘Our Lighter’ low fat cheese range with the release of a Lighter Extra Mature 350g block.
The new release from the Saputo Dairy UK brand has 30% less fat than its standard Extra Mature Cheddar.
The cheese is now available in Sainsbury’s (rsp: £4.20) with further rollout into Morrisons later this year.
“As the nation’s favourite cheese brand, we are always looking to support our customers and their lifestyle choices,” said Neil Stewart, head of marketing for Cathedral City at Saputo Dairy UK.
“Our new Lighter Extra Mature block will allow consumers looking for lighter versions of stronger cheese profiles to continue to enjoy the great taste of our market-leading Cathedral City.”
The launch is being supported by social media, online and in-store shopper marketing to grow product awareness amongst its target ‘healthy lifestyle’ audience and drive traffic to store.
It follows the brand’s move into plant-based dairy alternatives last month with the launch of a trio of vegan cheeses in sliced, block and grated variants.
