The new snack line builds on the success of Cauldron Middle Eastern Falafels and is a source of protein, high in fibre and low in saturated fat

Cauldron Butternut & Red Chilli Bites will be launching into supermarkets from this month.

The new snack line builds on the success of Cauldron Middle Eastern Falafels and is a source of protein, high in fibre and low in saturated fat.

The bites (rsp: £2.50/160g) are made from butternut squash, chickpeas, red pepper, red onion, a touch of mozzarella, and a unique blend of herbs and spices.

“We know plants are incredible, that’s never been in doubt,” said Lucy Grogut, head of brands at Cauldron Foods. “With our delicious Cauldron Butternut & Red Chilli Bites, we’re showing shoppers that nobody else can transform plants like we can.

“The Bites will add more vibrance, colour and excitement to people’s plates and we know shoppers will love this new product,” she added.

The brand hopes to build on the growth seen in the meat-free snacks sector as there are “plenty of opportunities for retailers to drive incremental sales”.

The launch will be supported by a digital, PR and in-store shopper marketing campaign.

“We’ll be grabbing shoppers’ attention on their path to purchase, driving awareness of this new addition to the chiller, as well as the Cauldron brand and wider category,” said Grogut. “Retailers who are stocking the full Cauldron Snacks range will see the biggest benefit.”

The bites will be available in Tesco and Waitrose from 30 April and Sainsbury’s from 7 May.
