English cauliflowers have hit the shelves at Sainsbury a week early.
Supplier SAS Fresh Produce said the good spring conditions for planting and subsequent rains had given the crop a boost.
SAS founder member Univeg has now achieved continuity throughout the year with English cauliflower for Sainsbury.
With 30 growers in Cornwall, producing through the winter, another team in Lincolnshire takes over from spring through to summer and autumn.
Sainsbury has also worked to extend the red and brown onion season by five to 10 weeks.
