Caxton Wines is adding a premium red varietal to the top end of its Jacob's Creek range.
The new Cabernet Sauvignon will be the highest priced non sparkler in the range at £5.99.
Marketing manager Charles Marshall said the brand's volumes went up 54% last year and the company is committed to building on this.
Caxton has already broken the £5 barrier with its £5.59 Shiraz Cabernet and aims to capitalise on increasing consumer demand for wines between £5 and £6.
The new wine will be on show at the London International Wine Fair this month and will be available to the trade from the autumn.
