The Grocer has revealed this year’s best own label suppliers - as voted for by buyers.
Glenmorangie, Robert McBride, Hazlewood Foods, Premier Foods, Monkhill and Toms Confectionery, Arla and Dairy Crest, Green Isle and Garden Isle, Gerber Foods and Sun Valley and Moy Park emerged as category champions in our 2004 supplier survey.
Only the fresh produce category failed to produce an outright winner.
A record number of buyers from the across the trade nominated their top suppliers on the basis of their account management skills, reliability of deliveries, consistency of product quality, value for money, ability to work with the retailer, new product development skills and crisis management skills.
The top suppliers have been automatically entered into The Grocer Gold Awards 2004, which take place at London’s Dorchester Hotel on June 16.
Software solutions company MEI, consultants KPMG and enterprise software provider Geac are sponsoring the event.
See this week’s issue of The Grocer for full details.
And next week the winners of our branded supplier survey will be named in next week’s issue of The Grocer.
