There’s no escaping class in the UK. Last week former Fast Show funnyman and kids’ author Charlie Higson was scoping out his local Waitrose researching a new book about a post-apocalyptic world without adults.
The book sees one gang of middle-class kids take up residence in the abandoned Waitrose on Holloway Road, North London, doubtless feasting happily on sun-dried tomatoes between games of croquet on aisle three. Down the road, the grubby urchins without trust funds have set up camp in the nightmare ghetto of… Morrisons.
