Lactalis UK is pushing ahead on the innovation trail with a range of Président cheese products for salads.
Président Mini Mozzarella Light balls (rsp: £1.29 for 20 balls) are the first in the line-up and will be followed by standard Mozzarella and then diced feta and goat’s cheese cubes in both standard and reduced fat versions. The Mozzarella is going into Waitrose stores and can be used in salads, starters and light snacks. Recipe ideas will be featured on all the packs, which bear a ‘Made in Italy’ stamp.
Pauline Clement of Lactalis UK said: “Our new Président salad range cheeses are an innovative offering in a growing market. Healthy eating (or reduced fat) cheese accounts for approximately 8% (£27m) of the Continental cheese market - Président has been able to develop delicious cheeses that work well in this segment.”
