Chin Chin has launched what is claims is the UK’s first ice cream in the post service.
Ice cream selection boxes will be delivered nationwide by DPD, with a “unique freezing technique” – using liquid nitrogen – allowing the ice cream to be kept frozen for up to 32 hours.
Selection boxes will feature three ice cream flavours, which will change seasonally.
The first selection box, which is available to order now, will feature Burnt Butter Caramel, Tonka Bean and Childhood Strawberry Milk flavours (rsp: £19.95).
Chin Chin founders Ahrash Akbari Kalhur and Nyisha Weber said they had planned to celebrate the brand’s 10th birthday with a big celebration but opted to launch the postal service as its customers didn’t know when they’d be able to visit London under lockdown restrictions.
“With so many of our fans based across the UK not knowing when they’ll next be able to venture into London, we wanted to find a way to delver the Chin Chin ice cream experience direct to their homes,” they added.
Chin Chin also plans to launch a monthly ice cream subscription service, giving subscribers the opportunity to try its new flavours before they’re released to the public.
