Spar wholesaler Appleby Westward has added cider to its regional own-label lines.
West Country Cider is made from apples grown in Polgoon vineyard and orchard near Penzance. The cider is the 17th regular line to join the year-old Spar West Country brand. Its clotted cream now outsells Rodda’s and its extra mature Cheddar won a silver medal at the Global Cheese Awards.
The wholesaler will soon relaunch Westward Gold, a full-bodied pale ale from St Austell Brewery.
