Greece aims to boost exports A delegation of potential importers and buyers is visiting Greece this month as part of an effort to improve citrus exports to the UK. Several importers have admitted that the country, mainly recognised for its lemons and oranges, has been facing increasing competition from Spain, Israel and Morocco. But Greece also produces a limited volume of grapefruit and in recent years has planted more clementines. The main citrus region being visited by the delegation is the Peloponnese, although Crete has traditionally enjoyed a niche market in the UK.
