Jam maker Clippy’s has extended distribution of its new Marmachilli marmalade into Ocado.
The spread (rsp: £1.99), which contains chilli flakes, would expand the appeal of marmalade beyond breakfast, said co-founder Michelle McKenna. One suggested use for the spread, which is also listed in Morrisons, was to top cheese on toast.
In long-term decline, “British marmalades have been under-invested and unloved for years,” McKenna added.
