The Co-operative Group has launched a new TV advertising campaign to push the new ready meals and pizzas in its Loved By Us range.
The two sets of ads, which break today, feature a man and a woman passing off Co-op products as their own creation, with the backing track ‘Great Pretender’.
In the first ad, a lady pretends to cook a home-made beef stroganoff for a partner, and in the second a man passes off a Co-op Truly Irresistible Prosciutto, Portobellini Mushroom and Mascarpone pizza as his own creation.
“We wanted a fun and lively campaign to illustrate the convenience, quality and tastiness of our new and improved product ranges, which include delicious new chilled ready meals and pizzas,” said Co-op Group customer director Andrew Mann.
“The campaign will take our own-brand products to a new level and will encourage customers to re-appraise The Co-op brand.”
The society relaunched its standard own-label range as Loved By Us earlier this month. It has so far rolled out food to go, pizzas and ready meals.
