Cycling world record holder and British Olympic medal hopeful Jess Varnish has created three colourful designs for Ocado’s delivery vans.
The cyclist’s designs for the online grocer are themed around the Beatles album cover for Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Roy Lichtenstein’s pop art classic Whaam! and a royal crown.
All three feature some of Varnish’s favourite foods for training and celebration, from Champagne to asparagus.
The designs will be seen on three vans that will hit the roads in the South East over the summer months, joining two other vans that the retailer has decked out in the Union Jack.
“Getting to design the vans for Ocado was a fantastic opportunity for me to get creative,” said Varnish. “I can’t wait to see them on the road.”
The 21-year-old is one of Britain’s top medal hopes for the Olympics this summer. Along with team-mate Victoria Pendleton, she broke the world record to win team sprint gold at the Track World Cup in London in February this year.
