Cofresh is expanding its frozen offering with a range of Indian street food snacks and “exotic” vegetables.
They include: Batata Vada and Aloo Tikki, Vegetable Kathi Roll, Tandoori Chilli Potato Kathi Roll, Tandoori Garlic Naan, Toovar Lilva, Shredded Coconut and Garlic Cloves.
All SKUs except Toovar Lilva and Shredded Coconut will roll into Tesco this month (rsp: £1.79-£2.50/200g-420g).
Cofresh said the innovations had been launched “in response to growing consumer demand for innovative quick and easy, street-inspired food for the home”.
“Busy post-pandemic lifestyles coupled with changes in our eating habits” meant frozen food had become “an integral part of our daily diets”, said Cofresh NPD manager Khushroo Nariman.
“Not only have we seen a significant rise in demand for the convenience of frozen food and easy cooking, but people are also seeking out increasingly innovative, exciting and authentic foods and flavours as they experiment with new cuisines,” he said.
The new snacks were “the perfect solution for consumers keen to recreate out-of-home experience and enjoy great flavours free from the hassle of cooking from scratch”, Nariman added.
The launch is being supported in store by branded PoS shelf dividers.
