Collagin, the craft gin made with edible collagen, has jumped on the pink gin bandwagon with its latest NPD.
The brand has launched Collagin Rose (40% abv), a pink gin made with oil steam-distilled rose petals and edible collagen, with 11 botanicals including vanilla, cardamom, juniper and pink peppercorn. It is available online via Not On The High Street, with listings in Ocado and John Lewis to follow in coming months (rsp: £36.99/50cl).
Collagin was “on a mission to beautify the world of spirits and create a gin that could sit on a back bar but also a beauty counter”, said its co-founder Camilla Brown. “The original Collagin has gone down a storm, so when people were begging us for a pink gin we decided to give them what they wanted.”

The brand plans to launch 5cl Rose minis and three mini gift packs ahead of the festive period.
Collagin ran into trouble last year when members of the public complained to the Portman Group’s Independent Complaints Panel over comments on the brand’s packaging regarding supposed anti-ageing properties of the liquid, including a description of the drink as ‘The Elixir of Youth’. These breached the alcohol marketing code of practice, the complainants said.
The gin maker argued its product contained no serious health or beauty claims, and that its founders were new to the industry and eager to bring the product in line with the code of practice.
However, the Portman Group agreed the wording on its label suggested the gin had therapeutic effects.
The packaging has since changed to say ‘Deliciously Smooth’ instead of ‘The Elixir of Youth’. The phrase ‘Skin & Tonic’ has also gone.
