Concha y Toro has launched a 2017 reserve for its premium malbec brand Trivento.
The new 13% abv vintage (rsp: £8.99/75cl) will roll into Tesco, Morrisons, Asda and convenience from mid-January, marked with an “outstanding vintage” label.
Its release came after a “phenomenal growing season” in Mendoza, Argentina, said Trivento’s chief winemaker Germán de Cesare. “The winemaking team at Trivento feel that this could be our best-ever vintage for reds.”
The coming year would see new formats introduced alongside a major marketing partnership for Trivento, to be announced in the spring, said the brand.
It has grown to become one of Concha y Toro’s star brands over the past year, growing sales by £9.6m (37.1%) to £35.5m as shoppers fled mid-tier brands in droves for premium and own-label bottles [Nielsen 52 w/e 9 September 2017].
