Mars has extended its M&M's brand in a move that will see it going head to head with Nestlé's Mini Smarties.
M&M's Minis are due to be launched next month in a tube containing 115 sweets that will retail for 39p.
Mars claims this offers greater value than its rival. Each pack of Mini Smarties contains 101 sweets and sells for 49p.
This value for money message will be underpinned by a £1.5m ad campaign.
Minis was rolled out across Europe last year and has become the fastest selling part of the M&M's portfolio in each country in which it has been launched.
