Confectionery stalwarts Steve Russell and Giles Atwell are launching a fresh chilled chocolate brand.
The new venture, called Russell & Atwell, is billed as delivering restaurant-quality chocolates at supermarket prices.
It will debut next month with a range of three fresh chocolates – Outrageously Creamy Milk Chocolates, Extra Dark Chocolates and Ridiculously Smooth Dark Chocolates (rsp: £6/90g).
The chocolate brand sources its ingredients from small ethical producers, including organic cream and butter from the Cotswolds, Dorset sea salt, Wainwright’s honey, Joe & Seph’s caramel and Luker sustainable Colombian cocoa.
Founders Steve Russell and Giles Atwell have over 30 years’ combined experience in chocolate, with Russell having developed chocolates for household brands including Mars, Cadbury, Green & Blacks and Godiva.
Atwell, meanwhile, held positions at Unilever and Mondelez before moving to Godiva in 2016, where he led the brand’s global expansion from boutiques to grocery.
Ahead of its launch next month Russell & Atwell launched a kickstarter campaign with a fundraising target of £7,700. It achieved the target within 48 hours and is now overfunding.
