Confex has welcomed three new members to its group: Ahmed Foods, A C Georgiades, and Regency Service and Solutions.

The new joiners are part of the group’s plan to grow buying power and geographical reach, and “add diversity” to the group, according to Confex CEO Tom Gittins.

It comes as Confex prepares to join forces with Fairway Foodservice members next year, forming the new Wholesale Group.

A C Georgiades is a national soft drink wholesaler and distributor located in Morpeth and Stevenage. It supplies a wide range of wholesalers, cash & carries and chains.

Bradford-based Ahmed Foods supplies the hospitality and restaurant trade in the north of England with a vast range of chilled, frozen, ambient and fresh produce.

Manchester-based Regency Services and Solutions has joined the group in order to achieve its growth objectives and “take the business to the next level” according to MD Jarrod Normie.

“We are delighted to welcome Ahmed Foods, A C Georgiades and Regency Service and Solutions to the group – their combined turnover adds an impressive £56.2m to our group turnover, which further bolsters our strength and buying power as a group,” said Gittins.

“In addition, these three new members add yet more diversity to the group, which we all benefit from.”

A C Georgiades MD Chris Georgiades said: “Our aim is to add more variety to our portfolio and to be able to communicate with the wider wholesale industry, so joining Confex was an incredibly easy decision.”
