Confex MD Nicky White is stepping down after 25 years at the helm of the family-owned buying group and has been replaced by her son Tom Gittins.
Gittins, who was appointed a director last year, becomes managing director with immediate effect.
“After 25 years, I’m happy to hand over the reins to Tom and the brilliant team we now in place have at Confex,” explained White. “I’m also looking forward to spending more time with my grandchildren.”
Gittins said: “I thank the board for giving me this opportunity and look forward to leading Confex into the next phase of our evolution in our 48th year. These are exciting times for the wholesale industry and with our dynamic, forward-thinking members and dedicated head office team, we are well placed to capitalise on the rapidly changing marketplace.”
Chairman Martin Williams said: “Confex continues to grow and evolve, with their members becoming the focal point of the business. I look forward to working with Tom and the family to further grow and develop the business.”
