Conviviality Retail has named David Adams its new chairman, replacing Roger Pedder, who will step down at the end of the month after eight years at the company.
Adams is currently a non-executive director of Conviviality, which owns Bargain Booze and Wine Rack, and joined the company in July. He previously held the roles of finance director and deputy CEO at House of Fraser, non-executive director at HMV and finance director at Topshop and Dorothy Perkins. He is also non-executive director of Halfords and the British Retail Consortium.
The company will also appoint two new non-executive directors at the end of the month.
Steve Wilson, group finance director of Headlam Group, will chair the company’s remuneration and audit committees and will bring additional financial expertise and experience of equity markets to the Board, Conviviality said.
Martin Newman, an expert in e-commerce and multichannel retail with experience at retailers including Harrods and Burberry, will also join the Board as non-executive director on 31 January.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Roger for his stewardship of the business over the past eight years and wish him all the best,” said CEO Diana Hunter.
“I would also like to welcome both Martin and Steve to the Board, who along with David as chairman will work with me to shape Conviviality for the future”, she added.
