Conviviality Retail is set to launch a new retail brand on Monday, The Grocer can reveal.
The Bargain Booze owner will open a 3,000 sq ft store under the name BB’s Warehouse in Wakefield on 28 July.
The new brand was designed to be “bold, fun and democratic,” said CEO Diana Hunter, adding the company was “on the hunt for more sites this year.”
She claimed the BB’s concept, designed to enable shoppers to bulk buy as well as purchase single items, was “unique.”
“It’s a simple proposition: the more you buy, the more you save,” Hunter said.
“Shoppers can make huge savings by either buying cases in bulk or by taking advantage of our mix-and-match multibuy offer on singles.”
BB’s Warehouse will stock 800 lines, including 400 wines, 190 spirits and over 200 beer and cider lines - 60% of which will be “craft ales, bottled ciders and premium world beers.”
A “mobile tasting station” will allow customers to try products before buying, as well as offering complimentary nibbles and drinks.
The pricing structure would be competitive, “guarantee everyday value on key brands,” and regularly beat supermarkets on price, Hunter added. Shoppers would be able to save on multiple purchases - with 52 wines, including Casillero Del Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon 75cl priced at £7 for one bottle, £6 for three or £5.50 for six. It would also offer “market-leading prices” on whisky and vodka.
“We’re confident this concept is going to be a success with shoppers.”
