Cook has developed a fish & chips dish in a microwavable pot for a new range of ‘British-themed’ meals for one.
The frozen food retailer adapted the meal for the microwave by using breaded potato cubes rather than chips - “a bit like giving Dame Maggie Smith a Mohican,” it said.
The dish is included in Brit Pop, a six-strong range going on sale this month. The meals for one - priced £3.79 to £3.99 - include other ‘British’ favourites like bubble & squeak, kedgeree and chicken kiev.
Cook is also launching a Steak & Spitfire ale Pie featuring a Spitfire plane shape cut into the shortcrust pastry. Cook will donate 25p to the RAF Benevolent Fund for each portion of pie sold.
