Ernest & Julio Gallo Winery UK has promoted four members of its sales team to head up the company's four new business units.
The team includes three former national account managers. Lloyd Stephens becomes unit manager for the grocery sector business unit encompassing club warehouses; Darren Telling is unit manager for the convenience sector business unit, including the symbol groups and cash & carry; and Roger Boucher takes responsibility for the leisure sector business unit, including multiple specialists and associated on trade business.
Andy Hicks, former wholesale controller, assumes responsibility for on trade distributors, foodservice and Ireland distributors.
BREWER BUILDS A BIGGER TEAM
Expansion plans at independent brewer WH Brakspear & Sons have prompted a number of new appointments at the firm.
Joe Laventure, previously sales and marketing manager, has been promoted to director of sales and marketing.
Ben Vannacone becomes national field sales manager and Robert Jenkins joins from Whitbread as national accounts manager. Peter Scholey, Brakspear's head brewer, becomes director of production and David Queen, the former manager of the estates, has been made a director.
LINDLEY HEADS UP UK INVASION
US company Horizon Organic Dairy is gearing up to launch in the UK and has appointed Jane Lindley as business development manager to spearhead the project.
Horizon, which has a network of 22 manufacturing and distribution centres in the US, last year bought Wales-based Rachel's Organic Dairy. At the time it announced plans for a major investment in the UK organic food market.
Lindley joins Horizon from cheese supplier Alvis Brothers, where she was marketing manager. Lindley is also a member of the Soil Association Processing Standards Committee, which reviews practices and processes in the organic industry.
BYE SAYS HELLO TO NEW JOB AT PATAK'S
Indian food manufacturer Patak's has appointed Jonathan Bye as director of UK sales. Bye joins from Hazlewood where he was sales director in the sandwich and pizza division, and has held positions with Procter & Gamble and Homepride.
whitworths picks o'hagan
Fruit and dried fruits supplier Whitworths has promoted Brian O'Hagan to sales director. He has been with the company for six years, latterly as general sales manager for the multiple sector.
