Cider producer Healey's is revamping its Cornish Rattler Cyder brand to emphasise its surf culture provenance in preparation for national distribution next year.
The new-look bottle, rolling out in February, will feature the silhouette of a surfer against the backdrop of a sunset. The brand's rattle snake logo the prominent feature on the current label is less conspicuous, appearing faintly on the surfboard. The 'It's Cloudy. It's Cyder. It Bites!' strapline has also been added to the bottle neck. Founder and MD David Healey said the redesign would resonate more strongly with the brand's target 25-plus age group and represented the first stage in expanding distribution beyond south west England.
"We are planning to extend across the UK next year and the overhaul is a crucial part of the brand armoury," said Healy. "We already have strong relationships with the multiples through the south west, and they have expressed interest in listing the drink outside the region."
Rattler is currently available for purchase in regional Asda, Morrisons and Tesco stores.
