Ex-Corrie star-cum-cheesemaker Sean Wilson is looking to put northern English cuisine on the map with a new TV series on Channel 5. The Great Northern Cookbook sees Wilson - who used to play Martin Platt in Coronation Street before making award-winning cheese with his Saddleworth Cheese Co - visit northern towns to explore traditional local cooking. He will also take part in a range of culinary ‘challenges’. The first episode will air at 8pm on 3 January.
