Spanish wholesaler Europ Foods has become the first foodservice company from mainland Europe to join Country Range Group.
Operating across international markets, Europ Foods specialises in British and Dutch food products and ingredients.
It supplies primarily foodservice operators in tourist destinations on the Spanish coast from Huelva to Barcelona, as well the Balearic and Canary Islands and the Algarve in Portugal.
Products supplied include fresh meats cut by professional butchers, a range of pre-cooked convenience meals, and ambient condiments.
Europ Foods will bring its annual £60m turnover to the group according to CRG, as well as 200 team members and a multilingual sales force.
The wholesaler was first established in Spain by two Dutch entrepreneurs in 1987, and has since grown its workforce tenfold as well as achieving the highest health and hygiene accreditation in Spain.
“The Country Range Group has been a driving force in wholesale these past few years so we’re excited to be part of the family”, said MD of Europ Foods Robert Van Barneveld.
“The group’s clear vision, strategy, buying power and product portfolio will ensure we continue to improve as a business, grow and reach our ambitious targets in the years to come.”
CRG chairman Philip de Ternant added: “We are extremely proud that Europ Foods have taken the strategic decision to join our fabulous group and expand its product offering to their growing Spanish and Portuguese customer base.
“We all wish them continued success and look forward to supporting them every step on their journey.”
Europ Foods is the 15th member to join the group.
