Foodservice wholesaler Country Valley Foods has become the latest new member of Country Range Group (CRG).
Stockton-on-Tees-based Country Valley Foods supplies a range of fresh meat, dry goods, chilled and frozen, as well as janitorial supplies to businesses operating in the hospitality, education and healthcare sectors.
Its turnover in the year to 31 March 2023 was £25.9m, 22% up year on year, according to its most recent accounts at Companies House.
“We’re incredibly excited to be joining the Country Range Group and are confident that their expertise, buying power and culture of continuous improvement will enhance our offering and service to help drive significant growth over the coming years,” said co-MD of Country Valley Foods Edward Munro.
CRG CEO Martin Ward said: “It’s a great pleasure to announce Edward and his team as the latest member of the Country Range Group family.
“Over the last 50 years they have built a great name for themselves and a resilient business so we’re looking forward to working with the whole Country Valley team to help them take the next step and reach their next targets.”
Country Valley Foods is the 18th wholesale member to join the group, which also includes 14 member businesses.
Originally established as Teesside Frozen Foods and supplying mainly poultry and frozen goods, the company rebranded to Country Valley Foods and relocated to Darlington in 1986. It moved to its current headquarters in Billingham in 2017.
Fresh meat and foodservice are a recent addition to the business, which decided to expand its operations to foodservice and invest in digital platforms and online ordering in 2018.
