Speciality spirits distributors Malcolm Cowen and Eaux de Vie are to merge in January. The deal will bring together Cowen’s Bruichladdich and Tullibardine malts and Lejay-Lagoute liqueurs with Eaux de Vie’s spirits.
Cowen owner Rupert Wilkins will take the same role in the combined company, with Eaux de Vie owner Neil Mathieson as MD in the new joint operation. Wilkins said he had long-admired Eaux de Vie’s ethos and breadth of portfolio. Both companies are privately owned.
