Boozy ginger beer maker Crabbie’s is making a move into the craft market with an IPA variant.
Crabbie’s IPA With Ginger Beer is made with Sadler’s Red Ale, and is naturally gluten-free. It will roll in to Tesco from 20 November and is set for AmazonFresh. It has already hit Drinksupermarket in a 500ml bottle at an abv of 4.7% (rsp: £1.80).
Billed as containing one-third fewer calories than premium cider brands, the NPD is the first product to hit shelves from the brand’s new Crafty Ginger Collection, which will expand with the introduction of a Crabbie’s Stout in December.
IPA With Ginger Beer was a “smooth, hoppy IPA” said the brand, with a “deeply fruity flavour from the hops, with a fiery kick of ginger”.
The brand has also unveiled a new look across all SKUs, designed to “dial up its craftsmanship credentials, ensuring it becomes more relevant and eyecatching”. The launch will be backed by in-store sampling events “to encourage trial and purchase”, with features in retailers’ in-house magazine, and social and digital activity.
