Salt Brewery has teamed up with metal bands Bullet For My Valentine and Trivium to launch a limited-edition trio of beers.

Three beers will launch this month to mark the kick-off of the “Poisoned Ascendancy World Tour” featuring both acts next month.

Ascendancy promised ‘subtle bitterness with a clean, invigorating finish’

The beers comprise a 6.6% abv IPA called The Poison, a 4% abv rice lager called Ascendancy, and Poisoned Ascendancy – a 4.5% abv hazy pale.

The beers will be sold in 440ml cans, via Salt’s online store (rsp: from £4.50), and on draught at select UK venues during the tour. The Poison and Ascendancy are available now, and will be joined by Poisoned Ascendancy next month.

“We’re massive fans of Bullet For My Valentine and Trivium here at Salt, so this project is a dream come true,” said Rich Nelson, head of sales at Salt Brewery. “Their music shaped an entire era of metal, and we’re honoured to celebrate their legacy with these unique brews.”

Trivium singer Matthew Kiichi Heafy said: “Trivium are a band that loves to explore the world through food and drink – especially through beer. With our collective years of beer fandom, we wanted to work with a brewer who shared the equal passion as us in crafting something just to our specific taste.”

This is not the first time Salt has enlisted artists for collaboration beers. Earlier this year, the Yorkshire brewer teamed up with Hooch and Happy Mondays member Bez to launch Twisting My Lemon Man.

The 4% abv lemon pale landed in Tesco and Morrisons in June (rsp: £3.50/440ml).
