Craft rum brand Elements Eight is bringing a blended rum to the UK market this week.
Republica is a blend of two single rums sourced from distilleries in Cuba and Panama, non-chill filtered and aged for a minimum of five years in Bourbon barrels. It has an abv of 40% (rsp: £25-£27/70cl).
The NPD represented “the spiritual home of rum, with its rich, romantic and unorthodox roots,” said Elements Eight founder Carl Stephenson, who was “fascinated” by Cuba and Panama.
He added that his brand took “a handcrafted, balanced approach to creating rums with artisan producers. I hold product integrity dear, and consult heavily on the liquid with distilleries, bartenders and rum writers.”
The launch of Republica brings Elements Eight’s range of rums to four, joining Vendôme Limited Edition; Platinum; and Exotic Spices.
