Pork processor Cranswick has rejigged its top management team in preparation for chairman Jim Bloom’s retirement at the company’s annual general meeting in July.
Bloom was one of the founders of the business and has been a non-executive director since 1974, shortly after it was set up. He has been chairman since 1991.
Chief executive Martin Davey will replace Bloom as executive chairman, while Bernard Hoggarth will become chief executive of food activities. Derek Black has been promoted from MD to chief executive of the pet division.
Davey joined Cranswick as finance director in 1985 and has
been chief executive since 1988.
Hoggarth joined Cranswick in 1978 and is currently MD of Cranswick Country Foods.
Black joined Cranswick in 1980 and was responsible for developing its grain trading business. He became involved in the formation of the pet food business in 1993.
