Blundell replaces Howard Ebison, who left the business in August

London-based doughnut maker Crosstown has appointed Jo Blundell as CEO.

Blundell, whose most recent role was as MD of Papa John’s International, replaces Howard Ebison, who left the business in August.

Over the course of her three-decade career, Blundell has held various senior marketing positions at McDonald’s, Burger King and Le Pain Quotidien, equipping her with “a pedigree of artisan bakery and QSR experience”, according to Crosstown.

Her appointment forms part of a strategic vision to drive Crosstown’s growth and solidify its position as a leader in the premium treats market, following its acquisition by Karali Snacks in June.

Karali Snacks is an arm of former Burger King UK franchisee Karali Group.

Blundell’s expertise made her a “valuable asset” to the doughnut maker as it looked to “leverage Karali’s resources and sector expertise to amplify its presence in the competitive UK bakery market”, Crosstown said.

Blundell plans to strengthen Crosstown’s brand identity, expand its product range and enhance customer engagement, implementing marketing campaigns and streamlining operations.

“I am thrilled to join Crosstown at such a pivotal moment in its journey,” said Blundell.

“With the support of Karali Snacks, we have an incredible opportunity to not only maintain the artisanal quality and creativity that Crosstown is known for, but also to explore new avenues for growth nationally and internationally.”

Karim Janmohamed, co-CEO of Karali Snacks, said: “Jo’s inimitable experience aligns perfectly with the vision for Crosstown and its growth ahead.”
