Dairy Crest's E370m (£250m) acquisition of St Hubert, the French and Italian spreads business of Uniq, has moved a step closer following a positive consultation with the St Hubert workers council.
“The required French Works Council consultation process has now been completed and a sale and purchase agreement binding on both parties has today been signed,” Uniq said in a statement.
The deal, first announced last month, is expected to be approved by Dairy Crest and Uniq shareholders early next month.
