Moy Park has poached a former senior Premier Foods executive to fill its head of sales role.
Darrell May, who has 20 years’ industry experience, will be responsible for developing relationships with customers and building branded sales across the Northern Ireland-based poultry processor’s convenience channel.
May previously worked as convenience channel head at Premier Foods, which counts Oxo, Ambrosia, Mr Kipling and Batchelors among its brands.
“We continue to focus on providing customers and consumers with high-quality products and service excellence,” said Moy Park commercial director for UK & Ireland Andrew Richards.
“Darrell’s in-depth knowledge and experience in the fmcg sector will help him lead our commercial strategy in the convenience market. We warmly welcome Darrell to the Moy Park team.”
The latest hire comes after the food group announced three new appointments to its senior management team in January.
Paul Longstaff was promoted from head of supply chain optimisation to planning and logistics director, former head of planning Andy Ruding stepped into a new role as head of customer service, while Ian Bowers was promoted from head of procurement to director of procurement.
Last month, Moy Park secured a contract to stock its breaded chicken range, comprising its signature Chicken Kievs, Southern Fried Goujons, Nuggets, Mini-Fillets, Garlic Kievs and Cheese and Bacon Sensations, in all Booths stores in the UK.
