DBC Foodservice has restructured its senior management team to help it take on market leaders Brakes and 3663.
The wholesaler, which was bought by Iceland boss Malcolm Walker and two members of his board in May, has headhunted four new directors and reshuffled existing managers following a strategic review of the business.
Michael Barrett, who was formerly managing director at wholesaler Crown Crest and has also worked as a national account director at Premier Foods, has been appointed to the new position of sales and marketing director.
Former Somerfield buying director Sue Cronin-Jones has been named buying director. She takes over from Brian Metcalfe, who has taken up the newly created role of business development director.
Jeremy Fitton has been appointed to the new position of strategy director. He was previously managing director at Openshaws, a fish business that was owned by Walker and Iceland financial director Tarsem Dhaliwal before being sold to Seafood Holdings this summer.
Former Openshaws financial director Leo Weston becomes the new group financial director.
Richard Burke, who was previously commercial director, has been made trading director, a role that will see him focus on meat.
Paul Wilkinson, who was DBC's business review manager, has become head of contract distribution.
"I am confident that with these additions to the management team we are in a much stronger position to achieve the very ambitious growth plans we have set ourselves," said DBC Foodservice CEO Andrew Ramsden.
