P&G and Unilever distributor DCS Group is expanding its head office in Oxfordshire as part of ambitious plans to become a £300m company in the next five years.
DCS Group received a £5m funding package from Barclays to grow warehouse operations at its 25-acre Banbury site.
The distributor will add 40,000 sq ft of warehousing to hold 9,000 pallets and accommodate its expanding operations. It will also create a 500-pallet area to store products requiring constant temperature control.
The move comes after DCS relocated its headquarters to the Banbury site last year.
DCS Group currently delivers to over 500 UK retail chains and wholesalers, and boasts a number of high-profile suppliers such as Procter & Gamble, Unilever, Colgate, Johnson & Johnson, PZ Cussons, Reckitt Benkiser and SC Johnson.
“The continued growth of the company has resulted in the need to expand the warehousing at our new head office. Barclays’ approach to working with DCS over the last seven years has been a vital ingredient to the continued success of the company. Barclays’ close relationship and understanding of the business and its challenges has ensured they have provided flexible facilities to match our growth as well as our future ambition,” said DCS Group chief executive Denys Shortt.
“This will enable us to continue to offer a first-class service to our clients as well as creating a number of warehouse and office jobs. Our category approach continues to deliver accelerated growth for brand owners and we see great opportunities to improve sales and execution of their brands.”
DCS Group achieved a 13.5% rise in sales to £210.7m for the year ending 31 December 2016.
