Deliveroo has partnered with designer fashion rental business Hurr, to deliver pre-loved high-end fashion pieces to customers’ doors in as little as 20 minutes.

The aggregator app’s customers within central London will be able to browse a curated selection of more than 50 luxury and premium dresses in Hurr’s collection, which includes brands such as 16Arlington, Santa Brands, Self-Portrait, Nadine Merabi and Rixo.

Once ordered, their chosen dress will be delivered by a Deliveroo courier, along with a returns label and instructions on sending back the item via post.

Hurr – which has been dubbed the ‘AirBnB of Fashion’ – currently offers customers receipt of rentals via a 24-hour overnight delivery service.

“We’re thrilled to be launching on-demand fashion rental in partnership with Deliveroo this festive season. You can select and rent your dresses from Hurr to your door faster than ever before,” said Victoria Prew, who founded Hurr in 2018.

“Customer experience is at the heart of Hurr and this unique partnership will deliver your last minute or planned party wear looks to your door faster than fast fashion itself.”

The “industry-first partnership” allowed Hurr to tap into Deliveroo’s “vast, younger customer base”, making high-end rental fashion more accessible “just in time for the Christmas party season” Prew added.

The partnership marks a further expansion of Deliveroo non-food play Deliveroo Shopping – which it launched late last year – and a first in the fashion space for the platform.

Since launch, the aggregator app has partnered with Screwfix, B&Q, Wilko, Ann Summers, The Perfume Shop and Not On The High Street.

The move into non-food categories gave customers “the convenience of shopping for everything – all through one app” Deliveroo said.

“At Deliveroo we’re always looking to break new ground and our exciting partnership with Hurr is no different,” said Eric French, chief operating officer at Deliveroo.

“It is an industry first for the rental fashion market, and will make high-end fashion even more accessible and bring a new level of luxury and convenience to our customers,” he added. “This marks our first step into the fashion space, and we’re excited to welcome more partners to Deliveroo Shopping as we continue expanding the variety for our customers.”
