German discounter Lidl is pressing ahead with its expansion in Northern Ireland.
A new store has opened on Shore Road in Belfast and the chain has applied for planning permission to build a £1m outlet in Ballysillan, north Belfast, and another in the west of the city.
Meanwhile, plans for a store in Londonderry are going ahead, with an economic impact assessment having been undertaken.
And Lidl is responding to criticism that it does not source enough local products by hosting its first meet-the-buyer event in the province. The event should have taken place last month but was postponed. Local suppliers expect it to happen shortly.
