Northern based loose food retailer The Food Weighouse is to roll out an instore cafe following trials at its Bulwell store.
The cafe will be added to larger Weighouse branches, and stores in Carlisle and Cleveland opening this year. A spokeswoman said the cafe was popular with its core customers who are elderly.
The 36-cover pilot scheme at Bulwell serves hot and cold drinks, and snacks cooked on the premises, including baked potatoes and cakes.
Chris Lewis, chief executive said: "We aim to support local communities by providing these extra facilities while still giving people the opportunity to purchase goods in the quantities they choose and offering great value for money."
